    EVERMORE FALLS LEGACY INTRO-2

Eli Jankowsky was born to Russian gypsy parents in the later part of winter in the year of 1622 and the family was very poor and had to struggle with a great deal of hardship as she was growing up though they had family friends they were very close to.Those friends were the Bronski family and Ami Bronski was born to them in the spring of 1623 just a short time after his childhood best friend Eli Jankowsky had been born.
They started out as good friends and eventually started planning on getting married to each other as they were growing up though childhood though times were tough and getting tougher for the poorest families like the gypsies and the other groups in poverty.Times were so hard that people were having trouble finding places to live without squatting in public buildings or camping out in warmer weather and some were even starving to death because they didn't know how to find any food.
Eli turned nine near the end of the year of 1631 and Ami had his ninth birthday in the spring of 1632.They were engaged to be married later in the spring of that year and married by mid summer with Ami changing his last name to Jankowsky after getting married. They tried to get started in Russia though it was very hard for young couples to get anywhere in those hard times. They married as nine year olds because they were legally adults on their ninth birthdays in that period in history.
Times were so hard for them that they ended up trying to make it in other parts of Europe and things weren't much better in the other countries. It was clear that they would need to get passage on a colony ship heading to the new colonies in North America to get a chance to start their lives out and to start a family.
Eli and Ami Jankowsky decided to take the risk of sailing to a colonial settlement site in North America located at Evermore Falls in Maine even though there was a chance the ship could go down and take them with it if it got wrecked in a storm. They were also risking the ship being attacked by pirates and the passengers taken hostage or drafted to serve as pirates.
They were lucky to arrive at their designated port of call safely and to find the land office in Central Evermore Falls where they could file a land claim for a homestead farm lot. They found out after arrving that their home would be an empty lot wth no house though it was a very large lot and would be easy to build on and to start a farm with as they prepared to start raising a family of their own.Eli had expected that they'd be getting a blank slate and would have to build their own house for shelter.
Eli and Ami would have to spend their first night in the basement of the land office in the jail cells using the bunks before heading out to check on their new home since they'd arrived late that evening. They were both grateful for the shelter for that night and for being given a lot to build a house on after earning the money.
The reason they were spending the night at the land office was beause their lot wasn't fully ready for them since a few items were still missing. It was to be taken care of by a land official during the night so their lot would be ready for them in the morning when they headed out there to take a look at it and gather up their sleeping bags. They'd also have to claim brooms, the ipads, laptops and pack a few things away for later.Threre were conditions to meet before they'd legally own the lot.
The conditions to meet before legally owning a land claim lot were that they'd have to starting from their first spring living there begin to get a house built with a living space,a washroom and a private bedroom within three years of that time. They'd be expected to have a solid shelter of a room with a solid roof a door and washroom area built before the first winter.
Eli and Ami were seeing their lot for the first time in the morning and they were impressed with what they were seeing because it was a very big lot and there was plenty of room to add onto a house and little chance of their family outgrowing their home though kids might leave home young since it had been a custom for nine year olds in Europe to move out and get lodgings near their jobs or apprenticships. That was because housing got too crowded with large families.
